A Queensland-based researcher is fighting extradition to the United States where he's accused of conspiracy crimes, including the prohibited exportation of electronic military devices to Iran.

University of Queensland PHD student Reza Dehbashi Kivi, 38, from Iran, has appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
