Patrick Dangerfield is set to return from injury to bolster the Geelong midfield in Saturday's AFL clash with Sydney, although coach Chris Scott has stopped short of declaring him a certain starter.

Dangerfield missed last weekend's win over Gold Coast with an ankle injury and has also battled a knee problem in 2019.

Fellow Brownlow medallist Gary Ablett is unavailable to play against the Swans after picking up the first suspension of his decorated career for striking Suns midfielder Anthony Miles.
